Nestled amongst the ancient Jurassic cliffs at the coastal edge of the North Yorkshire National Park, the area is internationally renowned for its fossils, fishing, food, walking, outdoor pursuits, culture and local character.

Explore the winding alleys, nooks, crannies and cobbled streets of this unique village of higgledy-piggeldy cottages tumbling down the hill to the sea, making Staithes one of the most photographed places in northern England.
Famed for the ‘Staithes Group’ of artists, for more than a century Staithes has been a magnet for painters, writers and photographers who have been captivated by its unique charm.
- The Cottage
The Cottage’ is a 250 year old stone built, cosy fisherman’s cottage oozing character and charm. Located at the heart of Staithes, next to the friendly local pub, the Cottage retains many original features including: beamed ceilings; stone fire place with log burner; original sash and ‘Yorkshire’ sliding windows. Many mod-cons are tastefully integrated including TV, DVD, Ipod dock, central heating, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, free wifi, and payphone. Sleeps 4, in one large double room and one twin room in the eaves, with sloping ceilings, exposed beams and views over to the cliffs and sea.
Unlike a lot of properties in the village, The Cottage also provides quality bedlinen and Towels (please bring your own beach towels).
We also provide blankets, bowls, doggy towels and sofa covers for those of you wishing to bring along one well behaved canine Companion!
